Sei Network, a blockchain platform built on Cosmos that focuses on facilitating infrastructure trading for decentralized exchanges (DEXs), has announced a new partnership with Gitcoin, an Ethereum-based token that enables community governance. The collaboration marks the launch of the Sei Creator Fund, with the initial round set to take place on June 4th. The announcement was made on Sei Network’s official account on social media platform X.

In addition to the social media announcement, Gitcoin also shared a blog post on its official website, providing further details about the partnership and the Sei Creator Fund. The blog post revealed that the two entities have come together to introduce the fund, which will start with a matching pool of up to $250,000 on June 4th. The matching pool is open to both new and experienced contributors.
The Sei Creator Fund is part of a $10 million initiative aimed at accelerating the development and growth of Sei. It utilizes the potential of the Gitcoin Grants Stack to achieve this goal. The first round of the fund will employ Quadratic Funding and provide a matching pool of $250,000 to support projects across various exciting themes.
These themes include NFT tools and marketplaces, decentralized content platforms, fan engagement and social platforms, Web3 infrastructure and creative tools, collectives and creator DAOs, as well as Web3 education. Sei is particularly interested in passionate projects that showcase the contributions of the Sei ecosystem.
To be considered for funding, projects must demonstrate technical feasibility and alignment with the core values of Sei. Community engagement and impact are also important factors. Additionally, projects should have a well-defined roadmap and a clear budget and funding plan.
Once applications are submitted, they will undergo an evaluation process. A committee consisting of members from Sei and Gitcoin will review the proposals, considering their eligibility and alignment with the funding objectives. The committee aims to onboard more projects to support various initiatives within the Sei Creator Economy.
