Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, Foxx Entertainment, and Fox Sports, has announced a new partnership. The company has teamed up with TIME, a well-known media brand, as its first external publishing collaborator on the Verify Protocol on Polygon. TIME will now utilize the blockchain-based media platform developed by Fox’s Emerging Technology team in partnership with Gelato Network.
The Verify Protocol, which is open source, allows developers and users to contribute to and further advance the mission of transparent content verification. Fox Corporation recently updated the Verify Beta using Polygon CDK and has partnered with TIME as part of its content verification and licensing strategy.
The Verify Protocol, which launched on the Polygon network in January, cryptographically signs content, including media, on the blockchain to enable consumers to autonomously verify its authenticity. It also aims to make deals for content licensing with artificial intelligence platforms, offering exclusive commercial opportunities through smart contracts.
Mark Howard, COO of TIME, expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the importance of access to reliable information in today’s world. The integration of Verify will provide a trustworthy source for fact-based journalism.
The initiative aims to transform Verify into an autonomous ZK blockchain operating on Ethereum, with Gelato providing support for the transition. This partnership will leverage the Polygon chain development kit to enhance content verification capabilities.
Fox Corporation’s vast content library, including content from Fox Business, Fox News, and Fox Sports, will benefit from the Verify platform, which covers images and articles. The partnership with TIME and the use of cutting-edge technology will enable developers to create projects that transparently prove authenticity and facilitate faster interactions.
