Mode, an Ethereum Layer 2 solution, has partnered with Chainlink, the leading blockchain oracle network, to integrate the Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with Mode. This integration enhances the security requirements of Mode, allowing it to be used in decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) applications.
The Chainlink CCIP is recognized as a market standard for security and interoperability. With this integration, Mode enables cheap Programmable Token Transfers and supports cross-chain Arbitrary Messaging through Chainlink CCIP-integrated oracles.
This update will create network effects across multiple chains, promoting the use of Mode’s layer 2 solutions and establishing a more inclusive blockchain network.
Mode’s vision is to support developers and users in building and maintaining a vibrant ecosystem of interconnected applications. The integration of Chainlink CCIP is a strategic decision, as it provides an unprecedented level of security and facilitates a comprehensive cross-chain ecosystem. This integration allows developers to focus on scaling their applications quickly, while users can earn rewards from sophisticated economic strategies.
Mode has also integrated the industry-standard Chainlink CCIP as its Canonical Cross-Chain Infrastructure. CCIP is built on the battle-tested Chainlink infrastructure, which has secured over $12 trillion in transaction value. This integration provides a secure foundation for Mode, with the Risk Management Network monitoring and validating all cross-chain activities 24/7 to prevent security leaks.
Johann Eid, Chief Business Officer of Chainlink Labs, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that the integration of CCIP in Mode enhances its layer-2 capabilities and improves the user experience. It also provides developers with robust tools for building secure and scalable applications.
